Jim Sharpe was the first kid that I meet when we moved toCamille dr. in Sept. of 1958.We went to Mesita in the 7th grade and then to  EPHS. As kids we would ride our Bikes to where the new homes were being built ,collect the Soda bottles and cash them in for 2 cents a piece. I turned him on to Benny Goodman and soon he had purchased every record that Benny made. Later  we played a few Gigs @ the Street Festival. He was a great Musician and performed with the Ray Charles Big Band and also with Buddy Rich's Big Band.He made a record with Jack Sheldon,Ross thomkins , guys who played on the Merv Griffin and Johnny Carson   Show..

Ps. We would sneak into the Fiesta Drive Inn. Rest In Peace.Your Jazz buddy Byron.

James, you and your buddy Byron, made my time in the EPHS band much more fun and rewarding.  I remember you both as super talented and true musicians.  Upon reading Byron's comment on your passing it seems you had the life you wanted, and if that be so, I am truly glad.

your old band mate,

dizzy Gilberto
