I remember Paul so well. He was one of the most decent people in our class-- and he was smart, caring, gifted in so many ways. In 1970, the summer after I got married, my husband and I traveled to South America because as student body president at the University of Texas he had set up an exchange program with Peru. After visiting Peru and Chile we went to Bogata and somehow connected with Paul who took us to see some of the worse slums we have ever seen. We spent the day with Paul and had a lovely dinner (I am sure it was cheap as we were penniless students and Paul was in the Peace Corps). When Paul died a few years later, all I could think is that he wa too good for this world. I hope he lives on in your memories as well!
He does, indeed, Libby!!! He was a true Christian in that he believed we should help and love all of those who need help or love, despite their race, sex, or religious beliefs. I, too, treasure his memory.
